Here locals can learn about the history of Bushey from its 12th century agricultural roots to one of its more colourful characters – Huber von Herkomer, a Bavarian artist who shaped many areas of Bushey, including building a Bavarian Mansion called ‘Lululand’ the gardens of which are still visible today in the form of The Rose Garden.
Bushey is also well known for being the birthplace of the band Wham, featuring the late George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley!
The annual Bushey Festival is much looked forward to event by everyone in the location community. A celebration of art, music, drama and sport that has become a highlight of the town’s calendar since it was first held in 1983. The event is usually every July.
Residents can also enjoy cultural events, live performances, and exhibitions at nearby venues in Watford and London.Bushey is also within easy reach of attractions such as the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, which is located in nearby Leavesden.
